Medical Director

ABOUT DO NO HARM

Do No Harm is a membership nonprofit made up of physicians, nurses, medical students, patients, and policymakers focused on keeping identity politics out of medical education, research and clinical practice. We believe in making healthcare better for all – not undermining it in pursuit of a political agenda. Do No Harm seeks to highlight and counteract divisive trends in medicine, such as “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” and youth-focused gender ideology.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic, driven, highly trained physician who aligns with our belief that we must protect healthcare from the infiltration of woke ideology and radical identity politics taking place today to serve as our Medical Director.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate, informed, and trusted executive-level medical expert who has exceptional networking skills to join a rapidly expanding organization in a high-profile role to expand his/her network and ours. The Medical Director should be equally excited about our work to protect merit in medicine from harmful DEI initiatives in addition to our efforts to protect young people from gender ideology.

The Medical Director will have the enthusiastic support of the organization’s leadership, who are equally as passionate and committed to supporting medical students, physicians, nurses, professors, administrators, and patients in this important fight. You would also have the opportunity to work closely with our Founder and Chairman, Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, in many aspects of your role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Informed Executive:

  • Maintain knowledge of developments and trends in national trends related to healthcare and medical education, and topics relevant to Do No Harm’s mission and scope.
  • Be conversant in recent academic studies and published papers relating to DEI and gender ideology.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the organization.
  • Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all aspects of the Medical Director role and Do No Harm’s activities and initiatives.

Brand Ambassador:

  • Work closely with our expert media relations team to serve as a key public spokesperson for Do No Harm – including television, radio, podcast, and print media.
  • Speak at conferences and events across the country on our key initiatives.
  • Serve as a guest on the Do No Harm podcast and solicit additional guests to expand reach and impact.
  • Author op-eds and other commentary.
  • Assist in making Do No Harm the “go to” experts on our key focus areas by being a key person to represent the organization when and where it matters.

Trusted Medical Expert:

  • Partner with the Director of Research to review publications for medical soundness.
  • Review external statements, memos, white papers, curricula, and professional development materials to identify inaccuracies, bias, discrimination, and alignment with the mission of Do No Harm.
  • Serve as the expert resource for the Do No Harm internal team to ensure all Do No Harm publications and statements meet the highest standards of accuracy and integrity.
  • Provide insight for and review of ethical issues identified in requests for assistance submitted to Do No Harm, and recommend methods of resolution.
  • Safeguard sensitive information and handle it with utmost discretion and professionalism.

Passionate Policy Advocate:

  • Partner with our advocacy team to develop and advocate for public policy initiatives that advance our beliefs.
  • As requested, testify in states and federally on these initiatives.
  • Support the work of our partners and allies as they also advocate for policy ideas that Do No Harm supports by reviewing proposals from a scientific perspective.

All-Around Team Player:

  • Tap into Do No Harm’s existing network of healthcare and public policy professionals, serving as an expert medical resource.
  • Create opportunities for the network to engage more regularly with Do No Harm through events, workshops, webinars, calls to action, and more.
  • Contribute to the identification and activation of senior fellows.
  • Partner with the Development team to ensure our donors are aware of the latest and greatest developments from our network and the impact they have.
  • Build coalitions between Do No Harm and like-minded entities to expand our reach and impact.

This full-time position is remotely based with 30 percent domestic travel expected.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Licensed medical professional in good standing in state of residence.
  • Track record of providing medical expertise that impacts medical research and/or serving as an advisor.
  • Engaging and able to build and grow strong networks and coalitions
  • Comfort with public speaking, including the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Experience with media or willing to undergo training.
  • Sound understanding of major policy issues within DNH’s mission and scope.

  • Work independently and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Effectively listen and communicate verbally.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidence and confidentiality of information.
