Do No Harm et al. v. David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA et al.
On May 8, 2025, Do No Harm and Students for Fair Admissions filed a major class action lawsuit against UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine, alleging that the school has been violating the Constitution’s Equal Protection Clause and ignoring federal law under the guise of “holistic admissions” in an effort to continue discriminating against applicants on the basis of race.
Indeed, the admissions dean is an outspoken advocate for using race as a factor in admissions and hiring. And whistleblowers inside the medical school have confirmed what rejected applicants suspected: admissions officials openly discussed race, held white and Asian applicants to near-perfect standards, and routinely admitted others with significantly lower GPAs and MCAT scores.
Do No Harm is holding UCLA accountable and seeking to end, once and for all, UCLA’s discriminatory medical school admissions policy.
