Joseph Kohm III

Joseph Kohm III serves as Do No Harm’s Senior Policy Director, leading the organization’s policy and advocacy work at the federal government and state capitals. Since joining Do No Harm, he has helped secure the introduction of the Yaeli Martinez Child Protection Act in Congress and has testified and submitted public comments in support of various proposed federal rules and administrative actions on Do No Harm’s issue areas.

Kohm has extensive legislative and legal experience advising elected officials on measures that protect women’s safety and opportunities, vulnerable children, and parental rights. He has testified at many state legislative hearings and spoken at numerous events on these and other political and cultural issues. From 2021 to 2026, he served as Director and then Vice President of Public Policy at Family Policy Alliance, where he also co-hosted the “House to Home” podcast. His earlier legal work included military justice investigations and international anti-human trafficking efforts.

A U.S. Army veteran, Kohm served as a Field Artillery officer in the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry)’s First Brigade Combat Team. He is licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C., and New York; he holds a J.D. from Regent University School of Law; and earned a B.A. in English literature from Virginia Military Institute.
