Dr. Ward received a B.S. in Marine and Environmental Sciences from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy and completed 5 years of active-duty service. He graduated from Yale University School of Medicine, where he was awarded the Farr Scholar for leadership and excellence in basic science research, and the Miriam Dasey Award for fulfilling the ideal of compassionate physician. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, has practiced hospital medicine and primary care for over 15 years in a variety of regional and national leadership roles. Dr. Ward promotes free speech and religious liberty and believes that all people have intrinsic human dignity. He advocates for evidence-based medicine and promotes that the pursuit of truth underpins the scientific enterprise.
