ENDOCRINOLOGIST SURVEY

We Want to Hear from You

It is clear that there is no consensus on “gender-affirming” care for minors within the endocrinologist community. In a recent letter in the Wall Street Journal, doctors from nine countries pleaded with the Endocrine Society to keep its recommendations on the issue in line with available evidence. By reviewing the research on pediatric gender medicine, our international colleagues have helped prevent children from undergoing potentially life-changing, irreversible procedures.

We believe it is time for the Endocrine Society to reassess the nature and scope of its commitment to the affirmative model of care so that American endocrinologists can provide the best evidence-based treatment for minors. Given the urgency of this pressing topic, we are eager to hear from endocrinologists and other healthcare professionals.
