Detransitioning, a catch-all term for individuals who received some form of gender-affirming care before stopping or in some cases reversing these procedures, has become a focus for such groups.
“One of the things that we often hear is that we don’t really know what the rate of detransition is,” said Kurt Miceli, chief medical officer of Do No Harm. “I think one way to potentially get that data is to have a code that’s within the medical lexicon, and then real-world data could be harvested, so to speak, to understand what these rates are.”
