Bill Seeks to Block Taxpayer Funding for Gender Transition Research on Minors

A congressional bill is attempting to stop taxpayer money from researching or publishing material that promotes gender transition procedures for minors.

U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), along with U.S. Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) and James Lankford (R-OK), introduced the Protecting Our Kids from Harmful Research Act.

From 2019 to 2023, health care providers performed gender transition procedures on almost 14,000 children, according to Do No Harm, a nonprofit medical advocacy group.
